Alternative Medication

In this blog, I want to share my knowledge of alternative medication including acupuncture, message therapy and probiotics. Acupuncture and massage therapy are forms of therapy and pain reduces that beginning to be more common today. Both acupuncture and massage therapy have nothing to do with medication given by a doctor, although have seen to show significant results in reducing pain or discomfort.

Acupuncture is the art of placing needles into the body in specific areas to either ease pain or for healing purposes such as smoking, dieting or depression. Acupuncture is the art of the Chinese, which has more recently become very popular in today’s society. The points where these needles are placed are found along the “vital energy” areas. These needles are said to take away the stress of an area in the body i.e., a needle through the ear will help ease pain in the lower leg. An issue with acupuncture is that it is rarely covered by insurance, and if not, there is no definite answer that acupuncture will absolutely work for you. Although, studies have shown that acupuncture can help a variety of problems in one’s life including abdominal pain, anxiety, obesity, sleep disorders, muscle spasms, arthritis and many more.

Massage therapy is more common because it is more natural and may show direct relief. Massage therapy is more ordinary to be seen with back, leg, neck and arm pain. The problem with massage therapy is that it cannot fix some problems that are either psychological or internally although can help ease pain for some.

Probiotics have become much more common. Probiotics are a dietary supplement, although is all natural and just add to the natural bacterial cultures found in the body. Most doctors do not recommend probiotics, although nutritionists and other specialists often advocate them. Probiotics help to strengthen the immune system. Reasons to use probiotics include colon cancer, blood pressure, Crohn’s, Colitis, IBD, cholesterol, and reducing inflammation (and much more). Probiotics are becoming more popular because they do not harm the body in any way, even if you just want to try them out, they will only help.

I suggest trying alternative medication if you have pain or problems, and are currently in remission of them. I have heard many stories of success with these forms of medicine and it takes away from the side effects that many doctorsrecommend.

I have gotten acupuncture done a few times and i love it. I do it more just to relax to any bad chi but i have heard from some of my friends that it does great things for their backpain.
